Whats in a Name? (Macedonia)

Whats in a Name? (Macedonia)

Many countries have many names in many languages. Greece is called Hellas, Greece, Yunan, Germany is called Allemangia and Tendeskia whilst France and Albania also have many names which for all countries mean one thing: their identity. Identity isn’t an issue of self-direction (eg for China to declare it is Mongolia) but a symbol of recognition, for everyone to accept that China is China.

The beginning of recognition in international law is recognition! A state does not exist if others don’t recognise it or only a section do. Britain recognised the USA whilst the USA doesn’t recognise Taiwan and Taiwan doesn’t recognise China (unless they have in the meantime). Palestine exists to the extent it is recognised or other countries recognise it.

According to this FYROM exists as a state, recognised by all whilst a few like Greece don’t recognise it at all. ( We must add here that however many recognise FYROM as ‘Macedonia’ this is of little importance for the brothers or a neighbouring country as it isn’t recognised with this name by Greece and international organisations.

FYROM is the historical paradox of a peoples trying to usurp an irredentist identity. This is due for two reasons: nationalism (irredentism for which we will speak later) of a newlycreated nomenclatura, which has a reason for a national existence and US imperialism which on this state they see the basis of their politics in the Balkans and Europe.

Everyone recognises and not only academic communities the history of the Slavo Macedonians (who today call themselves Macedonians) We are dealing with Slavs from those who have spread to the whole of the Balkan peninsula in endless waves. National identity of some of them was created by the tribes that spread around the Acrida area (the first Bulgarian Kingdom) under the influence of Christianity which in those days functioned as a Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Byzantium.

FYROMIskis today, the Slavomacedonian brothers speak first ediction Bulgarian language (from which started the Christianisation of the Slavs) and they bring an important civilisation, strange and parallel related to the other Balkan peoples through the ages.

It’s a paradox to negate their precious identity and to demand another, it is without logic to come out of history and to create a parallel history. Why do they do it? Why do they transform their state into a spark (inside the Balkan powderkeg)? As the ruling circles in this country are nationalists who dream of expanding it via irrendentism (mainly against Greece, as Bulgaria has taken measures). They are nationalists as they have the backing of imperialism, as via the tool of nationalism it completes its best jobs.

FYROM despite on the internal front suffering an issue of difficult cohabitation of two nationalisms, in foreign policy it has the paradoxical nationalism of an unknown national identiy, as this matches (from this it tries to gain) a new world order re-planning of the area.

FYROM and Kosovo and other entities not only harbour the biggest US base in the Balkans and at the same time build the biggest fences against the refugees (from the wars the West has unleashed)…

Concretely the rest of the ‘macedonian salad’ of the Balkans, Greece existed up till now existed as a state with the greatest level of national homogeneity not only in the Balkans but in the whole of Europe. The muslim minority in our country is only religious and extremely small whilst even smaller is the slavomacedonian minority in the north eastern Macedonia (which should be uself for the Greek state and not be chased as it was until recently) They are very small minorities but as tools of irrendentism of FYROM and the expansionism of Turkey can be used by the USA or rising powers inside the EU as a pressure lever to destabilise the Balkans, a destabilisation that started with the dissolution of Yugoslavia. Each destabilisation ends up with blood being shed.

Ambassador to FYROM in Athens wife standing in front of the map calling for half of Greece.....

Despite all this (in general terms) the Left in Greece (including the KKE) has shown that it has certain problems. A few would speak about ideological views and others about issues of understanding whilst others about viewing reality – as truth always exists via example. Untouched by this theorem a section of the Left which adopted the ‘ideology’ of imperialism and every other type of Americanisation (multiculturalism, self directionism, fantastic fairy tales and stories) saw in the face of FYROM a ‘victim’ (the gullible for the nationciders know full well what they saw and see). Thus in the name of self-directionism of the Skopje brigade we were confronted by the oxymoron that internationalists of Greece were supporting the nationalism of Skopje (consequently irredentism and behind the it the imperialism that directs it). Oxymoron and at the same time stupid, thus dangerous. This problem existed and still exists in Syriza. Storms and conflicts came with it and alongside it verbal abuse and slander by the nationcide brigades not only against their comrades but against all the Greeks with such overflowing hubris characterising all nationalists, racists and populists. Despite nationciders who exist within the Left have been exposed in all their ideologies in particular on the issue of borders, multiculturalism and other such topics, as long as Syriza was demanding power was attempting to hide the problem under the carpet with patriotic references of Tsipras personally, the same party after its right turn, not only liberated this forces anew but they became dominant. Now the nationciders can follow confronting the Skopje brigade the same right wing politics the USA follows alongside the European Union. The defence of Mr Mouzalas from a number of cadres is indicative. I will explain here that Mouzalas never said anything ‘bad’ he said that which he believes (irrespective if according to many he badly believed it) Anyhow Mouzalas has to show a serious amount of lifes work in support of people. His work as a Minister maybe he cannot do and to do something more important (from the many interviews he gives)

The whole subject is emblematic of the grotesque decline we live under. Kammenos asked for Mouzalas head for using the word ‘macedonia’ whom he himself has used at least ten times and listens to the word Macedonia wherever he goes. Hypocracy? Maybe! Maybe it’s the first case of Mr Kammenos taking his distance from the government which he is a participant of due to coming elections and fall of the government. Kammenos cannot appear as an anti-Memomorandum individual but he can pretend to be a ‘patriot’ via vulgar nationalism. With a hapeless victim (who is no longer a Minister) Madame Repusi.

Mouzalas ‘crime’ (not allowed as a Minister) is the tip of the iceberg. The leftists in other words those who follow a right wing line on national issues and the right wing line is what aids imperialism. The so called internationalists that support nationalism (as this is the turh of others, ie their nationalism) is a storm in a teacup as it is a really a storm in glass of water. What threatens to drown –along the refugees that drown – the whole of Greece is the refugee issue

The migrants and refugees who have arrived in Greece like many others aren’t going to leave. The issue of housing them, integrating them, assimilating them becomes the number one issue of the country parallel with the IMF occupation of the country.

The core political forces (Syriza, ND, PASOK, ANEL etc) have clearly shown they cant confront one problem after the other nor the result that both these issues create. We have therefore a strategic impasse. The people mobilised by Syriza have been pushed aside…

The KKE and the Macedonian Issue

The KKE and the Macedonian Issue

The KKE before WW2 (from the 6th Conference of its Central Committee
in 1934) had betrayed the strategy of the socialist revolution in
Greece. That which had remained for it so as to justify its existence
was to fish for votes using its grovelling to soviet Stalinism and its
anti-imperialist slogans for national independence and rule. The USSR
left the scene (we aren’t discussing the reasons) and the KKE betrayed
its anti-imperialism. From a pimp for the Kremlin they became a pimp
for the White House.

Whilst under the Mitsotakis government in the early 1990’s Papariga
(KKE leader) had agreed that Greece should never recognise the
Skopjians as a state with the name Macedonia, now it recognises them
without even having any reservations.

The anti-communists have found a chance to condemn the communist
movement and especially the KKE as the main culprit for the existence
of the so-called Macedonian issue. But the truth is almost totally
different. The Third Communist International in 1924 under Manuilsky
placed the issue of the Macedonian state (not nation) under the
framework of the Balkan Socialist Federation, under which (allegedly)
there would be no importance given to the national identity of
citizens. Due to this the conflicts among the Serbs, Greeks and
Bulgarians would cease in the redistribution of land which the Ottoman
Empire abandoned.

Nowadays no one talks seriously about a Balkan Federation. Everyone
is concerned about a Balkan salamisation. Under every situation it is
of course a mistake to ignore the existence of nations, national
languages, traditions and cultures. The example of the USA, a land of
immigrants which was built on the bones of the indigenous cannot be a
model to be applied in an area where it does not apply. An example is
that the nationalities of the USSR despite the existence of stalinist
witchhunts and violent relocations maintained alive their traditions, despite
the centuries of mult-ethnic existence under Tsarism. Once the fear
expired of Stalinism, the Federation became divided.

In the years of the Greek National Resistance, the idea of a Balkan Federation
and the common Balkan strategy of the guerrillas was used for expansionist
aims, both by Tito and the Bulgarians. The last were an occupying army
who were in control of the whole of Macedonia with the difference
being that in Skopje they had become accepted as co-ethnics. Yugoslavs
and Bulgarians lived with the dream of an exit from the Aegean sea.

The KKE on the Macedonian issue was obliged to accept in words at
least the Stalinist directives from the Kremlin. At at a time when it
was frightened of dynamitising the alliance of EAM-ELAS if it ignored
the desire of the Greek population in Macedonia which wasn’t obviously
fighting the German occupation so as to replace it with a Slav one.
Despite the ‘comradely’ cooperation with the slavomacedonian element so much in
Greek Macedonia as well as in the Serbian one, from the beginning of
the guerrilla resistance, mistrust was alwaus just under the surface
so were petty conflicts.

Finally it was the KKE of that era (I underline that) was the one that
held untoucheable the Greek borders and avoided one more tragedy for
the Greek population. The anti-communists and far rightists who
condemn it today for national betrayal in that era were quislings in
the service of the Germans and black hooded informers. I will remember a few
events to restore historical truth and to show that todays KKE has
nothing in common with that of the Resistance and it has betrayed its
own history right down to the last point.

When the Occupation forces left our country defeated, the
slavomacedonian forces of Joseph tried to march towards Thessalonika
to occupy it. Then ELAS mobilised the Macedonian battalions against
it. Let us leave the British author Nicholas Hammond writer ‘History
of Macedonia’ who lived at an age of 22 in Northern Greece and gave
battle against fascism on the side of the Greek Resistance to explain to
us the events and finally to rely on Stinas view to reconfirm the
truth of what he says.

Nicholas Hammond writes,
‘During the departure of the Germans (October 1944) Joseph head of the
‘slavomacedonian’ sections with a raised red flag of the Popular
Democracy of Macedonia attempts to march to Thessaloniki.

The ELAS brigades, ordered by Sarafis and Bakirtzis and Markos
Vafiadis, sends his forces to the mountain passes of Florina and they
dissolve Joseph-Ourndov brigades which retreat towards Tito.

Under directions of the Brigade of Macedonia, Evripidis Bakirtzis they
create special border section to ‘defend and control the borders with
enough forces and with such composition that there can be no
possibility of autonomist propaganda from the Macedonians affecting
you…’

‘In the era that Tito creates Yugoslavia imposing the Federal system
and implementing governments of Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia and
Montenegro and Macedonia and the dreamed of access to the Aegean
creating without any basis a ‘Macedonian nation’ with a ‘technical
nationality’ as stated by Edward Stetinious Foreign Affairs Minister
of the USA, stated in his diplomatic and ambassaodorial duties with a
telegram from his department “the US government considers that every
reason for the Macedonian nation constitutes ceaseless propaganda and
isn’t based on any political or historical reality and constitutes a
possible excuse for threatening acts against Greece”

Ag Stinas wrote regarding the same issue.

“The national resistance solved all the issues of the minorities.
Zervas destroyed all the Albanians in Thesprotia, all those who
weren’t able to pass into Albania. ELAS in October of 1944
systematically chased and essentially killed all the men of Joseph,
who also fought the Germans”
From the article The First Imperialist War

In conclusion I would like to emphasise that all this story regarding
slavspeakers who were political exiles which it is left to mean that
they were forced into exile after the end of the 1948-9 civil war
allegedly chased by the anti-communist General Papagos and the ‘national’
army are miles away from historical truth.

The slav speaking partisan forces had had greeks in their lines and
Yugoslav citizens and they who chose to follow Tito and to attempt to
add the Greek Macedonian lands onto Yugoslavia were correctly chased
by ELAS and ended up in todays FYROM.

Their case has nothing to do with real political refugees, the men
and women fighters of the Greek Democratic Army who went to the USSR and
other ‘popular democracies’ so as to survive the anti-communist
progroms which the brigrandry bands had unleashed in the whole country.
Many of these refugees have been re-pratriated by a law under the Papandreou
government.

If todays KKE considers the refugees of Gochev like those
‘compatriots’ of ours who during the Occupation fought against the
Greeks on the side of the Germans and Bulgarian occupation forces and
they acted as brigands for NOF whose aim was the splitting of
Macedonia from the Greek areas, these types of political refugees have
been created by the KKE of the resistance which created them, whilst
the establishment KKE wants the unbelievable: to import as a minority
the children and nieces just like todays Americans of Nimetz demands!

Point
For those who don’t recognise Stinas let us state he was a militant
who never became a careerist with many years in prison and internal
exile. A cadre of the KKE then a critique of it, then with a satellite
of the trotskyist opposition and then a fanatic opponent of it. He
ended up like many from the Left to declare in his ‘Autobiography’
that he felt relief that the Greece fell towards the Western sphere of
influence and survived from the Stalinist dictatorship of the Popular
Democracies. In his own way he repeated the common point: “Thank god
we lost comrades”!

Eyewitness Account Macedonia is Greek Rally

A) Political clowns and clownish acts were few and far between , which for me provoked a welcome surprise. Only Greek flags, few Pontiac ones and a few old banners of the Macedonian liberation war, nothing belonging to political parties.

B) The rally was organised by ‘ten nobodies’ as we joked with our friends at the end of the rally but they managed to bring in hundreds of thousands whatever the official msm states. People are longing for a spark to come out onto the streets.

C) Golden Dawn were there but not in an organised party block dispersed and in no way did their line pass and their voice wasn’t heard.

D) With the exception of General Frangos who spoke and raised the atmosphere from a nationalist perspective on the other hand he managed to explain fully the geopolitical dangers from conceding on the name, the other speakers kept a low tone and were in particular careful in what they said but some classic comments which the crowds love were unnavoidalbe.

I would like to add that the General is loved by the people and everyone wanted to listen to what he had to say and they turned on us when we were talking as they wanted to listen to his every word. From what I notice he has political aspirations and that he is preparing a new party. If he goes along that route whilst militant and honest he will burn himself. The crowd is always looking for a leader and a general in that position is what I am afraid required for that role. This is the eternal issue that the Left is abandoning the people from an abstentionist position of critique. Here they managed to call us all fascists.

E) The most positive of all is that I left with a feeling of satisfaction from the demo and that many of the speakers (one from Thrace, a pensioner from Crete and others) raised the social justice issues which we were concerned about: They spoke about Skouries, the ports, the airports, the Memorandums, the repossessions (even the General mentioned them) and they laid the base for a broader union of the social and patriotic struggle. The political regime was condemned as a whole and with joy I heard the speaker from Thrace call the politicians Kotzambasides (Greek quisling collaborators of the Ottomans).

The social justice issues easily were transferred to the people. In the discussions I had with the people for the necessary agitation I realised that we are getting a common consciousness, the people are ready from time.

It’s the first time in such a large rally the national and social issues went hand in hand and this I believe is what will grant success to our struggle. All those who will ridicule us and slander us will remain once more observers of developments that will surpass them.

F) The most negative was that the General and who spoke before him raised an issue of a Greek mionority in FYROM something which I believe is dangerous and which may open Pandoras box. Whilst those around me said that if you don’t make demands to balance out a situation you cant be defending yourself without taking an own goal. In short many believe the best form of defence is attack but I remain a skeptic on this issue.

G) One of the organisers of the rally Othon Iakovidis who spoke twice set a correct political framework fully adapted to the spirit of the Squares in 2011 which I will add as being a positive. He closed the rally stating today was the start, the Macedonian issue is only the tip of the iceberg and that all the issues of the anti-Memorandum struggle remain burning and open. He called for even a broader mobilisation for the liberation of the country from the Troikas control. The struggle continues.

H) Some say Anthimos appeared (Thessalonikis Church leader) but I didn’t see him nor did he speak for as long as I was there. There were three other Metropolitan Church leaders and few priests (I am not involved in ecclesiastical issues and don’t know them) who sat on the back of the platform in chairs and did not take an energetic part or speak in public. One of the organisers revealed to me that they hadn’t been invited and they came on their own despite the ban by the Archbishop of the Greek Church for attendance at the rally.

I) The ‘antiestablishment’ crowd were at the periphery of the. They circulated a picture of an attendee of the rally with a bloodied head wound. From the background the photo was from the rally. But there were no incidents despite the provocations. The people threw out the paramilitaries (people chanted ‘Traitors’ Traitors’ to them) they found it hard to do anything and they did what they know best in such circumstance, made a run for it. I didn’t see this with my own eyes but leave this out there as it could be false information…

Post War Assasinations: The Murder of Alexandros Panagoulis

The Murder of Alekos Panagoulis
There are references that one day before the murder of Alekos Panagoulis where he revealed that Andreas Papandreou was a US agent. His murder occurred a few days prior to him bring the file of the murders by the police unit of the Colonels Junta.

It was daylight on 1st May in 1976 and the car of the MP Alexandros Pangoulis is running with high speed towards Leoforos Vouliagmeni on its way to Glifada whilst next to it there were one or two cars appearing to be racing against it. A few seconds later there is a big bang and smoke comes from the right hand side of the road. The first few people who happened to be in the area rush to the crash and the find Alekos Panagoulis half dead behind a seat in the car and he just makes some sighs before passing away.

From the next day the phrase ‘political murder’ is on everyone’s phrase in the first phase. On the other the only resistance fighter who didn’t leave friends and enemies indifferent as well as the highly politicised era and the de-juntafication.
The publication of the archives of ESA (police torturers) which he had himself uncovered and their swift banning create a new climate between Panagoulis and the then Minister of Defence Evangelos Averof. Panagoulis had asked for a meeting with Karamanlis to inform him for the issue of the archives understanding that these papers in his hands would create him many issues.

The prosecutor of the case Dimitris Tzevas spoke initially about the criminal enterprise: ‘This case is analysed towards every direction and I left amounts on the possibility of a criminal organisation. It’s a strange car accident. So strange that someone cannot logically accept it was an accident”. Everyone is looking for the unknown Alpha Romeos, Jaguars, Fords which they brought out of their course whilst some speak about a bullet with sleeping drugs within it which immobilised. Mihalis Stefas creates more confusion on the issue on 3rd May when he confirms that the sudden break due to the high speed implied he couldn’t avoid it. The appearance of Stefas who is presented by the pro-government newspapers as a member of ‘Rigas Ferreos’ but his difficulty in explaining what he meant when the police asked for a reproduction and he

Convinced only those who were willing to be convinced and he pushes further those who do not want to accept the theory of the accident. There are many questions: Why did Panagoulis whilst being found in Palio Faliro and could go to his house in Glifada wanted to do a massive roundabout from Leoforo Singrou towards Vouliagmeni? The cars which followed him towards his course of death were at least two or three and a verbal spat also ensued. The funeral occurs on 5th May and is being transformed into a massive democratic wave against Averof and there is one chant which is heard in the wall of the city for many years Panagoulis LIVES. In this massive bipartisan rally – funeral the President of the Democracy Konstantinos Tsatsos, the PM Karamanlis does not come whilst the armed forces do not send an official to represent them. Everyone else is there though. All the political parties but primarily tens of thousands of people who may attempt to paraphrase a statement of Panagoulis: ‘I didn’t understand you people. Tell me again! Are you asking me for thanks or to forgive you?’ Massive amongst the crowds his mother who demands that her child not have his hands crossed as those hands were tied by handcuffs for so long.

Sometime later a paramilitary character with the name of George Leonardos had spoken allegedly about a so called organisation called ‘Arachni’ which murdered Panagoulis but in the trial which occurred he was condemned for slander. There was a judicial condemnation for the death of Panagoulis but this wasn’t for the murder but for the car crash. Stefos was condemned for the imprisonment to 11 months and a penalty towards 150 drachmas for the day. Panagoulis family wasn’t there to listen to the judgement and spoke about a parody of justice.

The role of the MM
For the newsmedia of the era the death of Panagoulis was the most important news after the return of democracy. The first days when there were no newspapers due to the May day break so the only absolute form of information was the state media and as was natural spoke about an accident not a murder.
So as to give weight to the government view the television referred to ‘blood test which occurred immediately after the crash which found 57grams of alcohol in the blood of the victim’ For most people who don’t know that this is an acceptable level but this implied that most thought he crashed due to drinking.
The climate changed immediately on 3rd May when newspapers were circulated that represented all views : murder or accident.
‘Ta Nea’ ‘They killed him so he makes no more revelations. He was killed by a bullet with poison’
‘Vradidini’ ‘All the information regarding the death of Panagoulis. All indications show that this was a car crash’
‘Rizospastis’ KKE didn’t have his death as the main item…

Various newspapers abroad also commented but most were clear it was murder.
‘Daily Express’ Murder, killing the mouth of the Greek witness of torturers’
‘Times’ ‘The Greeks know enough about heroes and myths to not believe in accidents’

Even 15 days after his death the noise hadn’t receded the discussions about conspiracies and cover ups continued to the point that the then deputy Minister of the Presidency Panagiotis Lambrios sent a note to the owners of the Media where he asked ‘they end the re-interpration of the death of Alekos Panagoulis’ whilst he made noise about a technical provocation which could provoke dangers for democracy itself
Who would accept that the fighter of democracy would be responsible for his own death and that democracy would be endangered. This letter provoked an even bigger wave of reaction from the parties of the opposition towards the government which spoke about imposing controls on the Press and a restriction of its freedom.

Characteristic the climate of the era was a letter sent to Karamanlis by the journalist B. Vasiliou ‘I am concerned that apart from an insurance man of cars I haven’t met any other person who ignores the version of murder of Panagoulis. It would be good to have some element of doubt these hours as there is only one journalist who support the government that was elected on 45.5% of the vote.

Biography
Alexandros Panagoulis (Greek: Αλέξανδρος Παναγούλης) (2 July 1939 – 1 May 1976) was a Greek politician and poet. He took an active role in the fight against the Regime of the Colonels (1967–1974) in Greece. He became famous for his attempt to assassinate dictator Georgios Papadopoulos on 13 August 1968, but also for the torture that he was subjected to during his detention. After the restoration of democracy he was elected to the Greek parliament as a member of the Center Union (E. K.).

Alexandros Panagoulis was born in the Glyfada neighbourhood of Athens. He was the second son of Vassilios Panagoulis, an officer in the Greek Army, and his wife Athena, and the brother of Georgios Panagoulis, also a Greek Army officer and victim of the Colonels' regime, and Efstathios, who became a politician. His father was from Divri (Lampeia) in Elis (Western Peloponnese) while his mother was from the Ionian island of Lefkada. Panagoulis spent part of his childhood during the Axis Occupation of Greece in the Second World War on this island.
He studied at the National Technical University of Athens in the School of Electrical Engineering.

Politics
From his teenage years, Alexandros Panagoulis was inspired by democratic values. He joined the youth organisation of the Center Union party (E.K.), known as O.N.E.K., under the leadership of Georgios Papandreou. The organisation later became known as Hellenic Democratic Youth(E.DI.N.). After the fall of the Colonels' regime and the restoration of parliamentary rule, Panagoulis became the Secretary-General of E.DI.N., on 3 September 1974.
Resistance to the dictatorship

Alexandros Panagoulis participated actively in the fight against the Regime of the Colonels. He deserted from the Greek military because of his democratic convictions and founded the organization National Resistance. He went into self-exile in Cyprus in order to develop a plan of action. He returned to Greece where, with the help of his collaborators, he organized the 13 August 1968 assassination attempt against Papadopoulos, close to Varkiza. The attempt failed and Panagoulis was arrested.

In an interview held after his liberation, Italian journalist Oriana Fallaci quoted Panagoulis as saying: I didn’t want to kill a man. I’m not capable of killing a man. I wanted to kill a tyrant.[1]
Panagoulis was put on trial by the Military Court on 3 November 1968, condemned to death with other members of National Resistance on 17 November 1968, and subsequently transported to the island of Aegina for the sentence to be carried out. As a result of political pressure from the international community, the junta refrained from executing him and instead incarcerated him at the Bogiati Military Prisons on 25 November 1968.

Alexandros Panagoulis refused to cooperate with the junta, and was subjected to physical and psychological torture.[2] He escaped from prison on 5 June 1969. He was soon re-arrested and sent temporarily to the camp of Goudi. He was eventually placed in solitary confinement at Bogiati, from which he unsuccessfully attempted to escape on several occasions.
He reportedly refused amnesty offers from the junta. In August 1973, after four and a half years in jail, he benefited from a general amnesty that the military regime granted to all political prisoners during a failed attempt by Papadopoulos to liberalize his regime. Panagoulis went into self-exile in Florence, Italy, in order to continue the resistance. There he was hosted by Oriana Fallaci, his companion who was to become his biographer.
Restoration of democracy

After the restoration of democracy during the Metapolitefsi, Alexandros Panagoulis was elected as Member of Parliament for the Center Union - New Forces party in the November 1974 elections. He made also a series of allegations against mainstream politicians who he said had openly or secretly collaborated with the junta. He eventually resigned from his party, after disputes with the leadership, but remained in the parliament as an independent deputy. He stood by his allegations, which he made openly against the then Minister of National Defence, Evangelos Averoff, and others. He reportedly received political pressure and threats against his life in order to persuade him to tone down his allegations.
Death]

Grave of Alexandros (Alekos) Panagoulis; First Cemetery of Athens.
Panagoulis was killed on 1 May 1976 at the age of 36 in a car accident on Vouliagmenis Avenue in Athens. More precisely, a frantically speeding car with a Corinthian named Stefas behind the wheel diverted Panagoulis' car and forced it to crash.[3] The crash killed Panagoulis almost instantaneously. This happened only two days before files of the junta's military police (the "E.A.T.-E.S.A. file") that he was in possession of were to be made public. The files, which never materialized, reportedly included evidence of his allegations of collaboration of Greek officers with Nazi Germany in World War Two as many of the men who served in the Security Battalions who fought for the Germans in 1943-44 were the leaders of the Colonels' Regime of 1967-74. There was much speculation in the Greek press that the car accident was staged to silence Panagoulis and to cover up the documents in question.

Cimitero degli Allori, Oriana Fallaci and memorial to Panagoulis
A memorial to Panagoulis is near Oriana Fallaci's tomb at Cimitero degli Allori, Florence.
Poetic work
Alexandros Panagoulis was brutally tortured during his incarceration by the junta. Many believe that he maintained his faculties thanks to his will, determination to defend his beliefs, as well as his keen sense of humour. While imprisoned at Bogiati, Panagoulis is said to have written his poetry on the walls of his cell or on small papers, often using his own blood as ink (as told in the poem 'The Paint'). Many of his poems have not survived. However, he managed to smuggle some to friends while in prison, or to recall and rewrite them later. While in prison his first collection in Italian titled Altri seguiranno: poesie e documenti dal carcere di Boyati(Others will Follow: Poetry and Documents of the Prison of Boyati) was published in Palermo in 1972 with an introduction of the Italian politician Ferruccio Parri and the Italian film director and intellectual Pier Paolo Pasolini. For this collection Panagoulis was awarded the Viareggio International Prize of Poetry (Premio Viareggio Internazionale) the following year. After his liberation he published his second collection in Milan under the title Vi scrivo da un carcere in Grecia (I write you from a prison in Greece) with an introduction by Pasolini. He had previously published several collections in Greek, including The Paint (I Bogia).

Why is there such a rush to change the name of FYROM suddenly?

Why is there such a rush to change the name of FYROM suddenly?
As the whole world recognises the issue with the name of FYROM started from the early part of the 1990’s decade. The era when just after the collapse of the Soviet Union American imperialism via NATO considered that we had arrived at the historical opportunity to dominate from one end to another of the whole planet decisively and irrevocably.

The neuralgic position of the Balkans from a geopolitical point of view was one of their first priorities. What followed was a violent break up of Yugoslavia, which was by a distance the largest country of the Balkan peninsula. It was when the US plans for the area arrived in a convulsive manner (for all those who wanted to understand) to the surface. The element which became clear was that these plans wouldn’t stop with the breakup of Yugoslavia alone. They involved Greece a country which maintained a 97% uniformity in terms of ethnic composition. A percentage which did not correspond with the protectorates they wanted to create.

But what happened next is the issue. The newlyborn statelet of FYROM started its propaganda regarding its ‘Macedonian roots’ which it allegedly held in its hands as its cultural heritage and all the official parties (most of the unnoficial ones!) here in Greece, alongside the MSM, hypocritically pretended that they didn’t see ‘hidden hand’ that directed FYROM. They alleged that they themselves, alone, were stealing our cultural and historical heritage! The whole ‘Left’ in tandem as well…

From the 1990’s onwards too much water has gone under the bridge and in particular with the global relationship of forces on an international level. Changes have occurred which anyone can understand influence developments in the Balkan region.

First of all the Americans from the point of view of power and respect inside the clear imperialist (lets say Western) camp have lost their old …aura. The endless defeats they continuously receive and continue to do so in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria are much greater than those they received in past with the Vietnam defeat. The recent defeat of America at the UN which Erdogan provoked on the issue of Jerusalem clearly shows their current state of decline.

At the same time Russia and China as competitors and by default opponents of the Americans have started spreading their wings everywhere. Economically and (mainly) militarily, a fact whereby the all powerful ‘White House is obliged to take into account…

The developments in the Balkans follow by necessity these massive changed which have occurred in the global balance of forces. The stories that are circulated which have Trump and Putin having agreed behind closed doors for a new dividing up of the geopolitical landscape have a great dose of truth in them. Putin has armed the Serbs with modern weapons at the same time as mentioning ‘that whoever attack Serbia, will be like attacking us’… A big change which shows that whichever developments are constituted from now on in the Balkans won’t really affect the Serbs, but will essentially work in the favour…

Here in Greece most involved persons (parties, MSM, ‘left’) continuously have problems with the name of FYROM as they related to it in the early part of the 90’s decade. They speak about the irrendentism of FYROMiskis without taking into account issues that are occurring right under their nose. The first pronouncements by the American Foreign Minister Tillerma when he undertook his taskas were that ‘FYROM is an unnatural construction’.. Then what followed was the fall of Grouevski (the fanatical follower of the word ‘Macedonia’) who appears to distance himself from the deman of the above name and more generally ‘Macedonian heritage’. Its no coincidence that the journalist Branci Geroski in yesterdays paper Slobodan Petsat stated ‘There is no need to waste current Macedonia’ to utilise whatever people from ancient Macedonia. This does prove anything, nothing is won by this. We just lose. We must mention with daring and clarity the positions of our identity. Not only ‘isnt Macedonia the heirs of Phillipos and Alexandros but neither heirs! This is the truth. For the interests of our identiy and our nation we must decisively stop this ridiciulous approach to the history of Alexander and Phillip that we are descendents and find our true roots’. If the above words don’t show an absolute change of direction which has been imposed from above then words lose their meanings…

The American turn on the issue of the name of FYROM is clear. Their interest in rushing to solve this anomaly with respect to the name of FYROM doesn’t appear to have a direct relationship so much with the entrance of FYROM into NATO and the EU but appears (maybe the cheese on the rat trap for the politicians in FYROM) with direct developments that might occur in the are, developments that are blocked by the issue of its name. Which ones? No one can say with certainty from now, Nothing good of course will come to FYROM…

Its a lie tha the Syriza government is entering hard bargaining over the issue. They will do what the Yanks say. That is beyond doubt. Everything is predetermined. The rush to solve the name of FYROM started immediately after Tsipras visit to the USA. That is why it is keeping its hand closed. They pretend they are a poker player with a strong hand but does not show it. Whatever comes of it it wont be due to the abilities of the man who has sold everything out but undoubtedly that the game is being played by the bosses and the stack of cards is marked.

Open Letter to Syriza-ANEL government Mikis Theodorakis on the issue of FYROM

Open Letter to Syriza-ANEL government
Mikis Theodorakis on the issue of FYROM
The Council of Political Leaders in 1992 decided a common national line towards a name which did not include the word ‘Macedonia’. A compromise on this line will have disastrous results for the future of this country taking into account that after eight years of robbing the Greek peoples which led us to todays dramatic situation, the only thing that remains is the protection of our national inviolability. The Kopje government threatens without any holds barred the inviolability of our country. Using the vehicle of the name ‘Macedonia’ and disrupting historical events to such an extent of ridiculousness they are trying to extend their borders against our own attempting to create the ‘Macedonia of the Aegean’. This aim has functioned decades now as a basic national aim of the neighbouring country with the result being that a generation of Skopje citizens believe this idea and today have the firm belief they are the direct descendants of the Kingdom of Macedon Phillip and Great Alexander.

A truly colossal propaganda which has involved a number of states in this historical ridiculousness being aided of course from the position of those in charge of Greece who made no attempt to change this view in the eyes of the foreigners this massive falsification of history. We reached the ridiculous point where we are threatened as a Peoples, to be obliged to justify our patriotism! If we back down this moment from our position its as if we open Pandoras box. We need to be vigilant for our national independence, taking into account there strong international forces whose aim is the salamisation of the area of the Balkans. The Yugoslav example is still fresh in peoples minds. The next victim will be our country. The dark clouds that threaten us are becoming more visible. If we back down now to the open provocation of Skopje who haven’t resigned from the original aim of their national line and are trying to become members of NATO with our vote they can tomorrow threaten us from a higher and stronger position then we will guilty of our fate.

Sirs of the Greek Government, the weight that you are being forced to bear is unbearable. That is why don’t do it. Remain loyal to the national line of 1992. The responsibilities you have undertaken on the economic front are great. But in relation to those that are related to our national security and inviolability are colossal and they will not only drag you down but the country as a whole. To be led to bankruptcy and the dissolution of our social bonds is a massive issue. But to arrive at the stage of the inviolability of our country is not only a massive issue but sudden death. Our country will not last if it loses another square metre of Greek land. Is that excessive? Just think who really could have thought that the once powerful Yugoslavia could be broken up. Opportunities wont wait (Thuycicides).

When you are frightened to state you love your country –and even worse you sell it out- that is being a quisling. When you are no longer frightened to state that you love the country and you have the courage to scream it, that isn’t nationalism but patriotism! Greece today more than any other period has the need for patriots!

NO to the Abuse of Our History by FYROMiskis

NO to the Abuse of Our History by FYROMiskis
The argument is thus: A fascist isn’t only he who supports internal fascism you are also one if you (consciously or unconsciously) support fascism of the others! In the current situation the nationcide and I don’t have a nation brigade support the archetype of Balkan fascism and its more obscene version. Let the neoliberal post modernists and the fake prokressive leftists that Skopje is the last fascist bulwark in Europe with irrendentish complexes stealing foreign history and ethnological identity. They are liars and thieves. Whoever lies and steals cannot be taken into account. Greece DOES not demand anything. Skopje demands. Whoever does not demand cannot be condemned for ‘naitonalism’. Recognition of the state of ‘Macedonia’ implies de facto recognition of the Macedonian nation. Here is the contradiction of the nationciders who spit on their own nation in order to create another! Recognising roma populations in the Balkans as ‘Macedonians’ affects us as Greeks. It hurts us as it implies:
1. Justification and rebirth of Balkan fascism
2. Accepting a revision will strengthen other neighbouring countries with a domino effect (eg minority in Thrace – Turkey, ‘Chamouria’ –Albania)
3. Weakening the area by encouraging irrendentism
4. Resurfacing a ‘Macedonian minority’
5. Offending the historical memory of Greece

6. Removing the use of the name ‘Macedonia’ from Greeks in other words the right to be self-characterised as such (as long as they come from Macedonia). The right of self-direction isn’t limitless. It stops there where it starts to offend the rights of others being selfcharacterised.

No the name of Macedonia from the FYROMiskis. We don’t want fascists in our neighbourhood. Here is the contradiction of the nationcide line who allegedly are concerned about our ‘fascism’ resurrecting another!

FASCISM WONT PASS

Cyprus Entry into the EU: A Warning from History

Cyprus Entry into the EU: A Warning from History

“The Greek people are anarchic and difficult to tame. For this reason we must strike deep into their cultural roots: Perhaps then we can force them to conform. I mean, of course, to strike at their language, their religion, their cultural and historical reserves, so that we can neutralize their ability to develop, to distinguish themselves, or to prevail; thereby removing them as an obstacle to our strategically vital plans in the Balkans, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East.”

(As reported in the popular Greek magazine, Oikonomikos Tachydromos on 14 Aug. l997, Henry Kissinger, while addressing a group of Washington, D.C. businessmen in Sept.1974)

During the early part of the 21st century discussions occurred known as the Kogi Annan plan for the alleged reunification of the divided island of Cyprus. The division of Cyprus has existed so that AngloAmerican imperialism can maintain a military foothold on the island via military bases. When the US backed Junta in Greece was following Turkey invaded the island and allegedly secured almost half of it for less than 20% of the Cypriot Turkish polulation.
Prior to EU entry the UN on behalf of the world powers tried to get reunification on the basis of creating a rotating government whereby equal weight would be given to both Cypriot Turks and Cypriot Greeks despite the disparities in population (+500k Greeks +150k Turks) and there would be the issue of Turkish troops still on Cypriot soil and the settlers that arrived with the Turkish invasion.
The referendum was held in 2004 and was rejected by 90% of the GreekCypriot population of 480k but voted through by 75% of the TurkishCypriot population of 143k. The plans were eventually shelved. As a consequence a year later the GreekCypriot political elite was penalised with a the worst airplane crash in history of Flight ZU522. Helena Smith the globalist presstitute from the Guardian who has always supported anti-Hellenic pro-EU views was forced to write an article with a title called ‘The Strange Flight of ZU22’

“When relatives visited the mortuary to pick out those they had lost in Greece's biggest and strangest air disaster, they spent far longer with the dead than anyone expected. I watched as they waited in the merciless midday sun, and I watched as they came out, wailing cries of grief. The horrible truth, too awful to articulate, was that most of the corpses were charred beyond recognition.
The following day I visited the scene of the crash. The Cypriot airliner struck a mountain cliff before disintegrating over a sprawling ravine. Wreckage littered the lush, bucolic countryside and Inspector Giorgos Polydoras pointed out the Boeing 737's tail. The tail section was evidently the first bit of the plane to fall to earth. Nearly intact, it lay on its side with the golden features of the sun god Apollo, the airline's cheery symbol, staring into the Attic sky. The sight took my breath away.” 1.

The flight was a mid-August flight with no unusual weather patterns yet the story that emerged was that the pilots lost consciousness and alongside them the whole crew until eventually crashing on the side of a mountain killing everyone on board. On that day I was actually across the sea from the actual crash and had opened CNN and saw a report about a plane crash on the island of Evia. On going out to the balcony I could see the smoke, but the crash wasn’t in Evia but on mainland Greece. What happened and why?

If the crew was unconscious and the plane was on auto pilot circling the Aegean sea why would it then crash by the side of a mountain? The pilots and crew all were unconscious and froze as temperatures were -50c. Then another report stated a crew member was awake and tried to save plane by attempting to fly it but one by one the engines cut out. 2. By all accounts the official stories are made up and the crash was a response to rejecting the Kofi Annan plan as the main shareholders were previous Transport Ministers from AKEL as well as the close circle of Ministers in Tassos Papadopoulos party as President at the time who rejected the Kofi Annan plan as reported in the Economic Tahidromos of Athens as it was Cyprus first private airline anyhow. 3.
Subsequently the Cypriot government had an ‘investigation’

In crashes which occur under suspicious circumstances it is natural to blame:
a) pilots b) mechanical failure c)unusual weather conditions d) engineers

“The August 14 crash of flight ZU522 was the deadliest aviation disaster in Greece and Cyprus. The Boeing 737-300 slammed into a hillside at Grammatikos, near Athens, killing all 115 passengers and six crew.
In an October 2006 report on the crash, Greek investigators cited human error as the main cause of the crash, saying the pilots had left cabin pressure controls at an incorrect setting.
Passengers and crew were starved of oxygen due to problems in the cabin pressurisation, while the aircraft subsequently crashed into the hill after running out of fuel.
The report also cited Boeing for “ineffectiveness of measures”, since the same alarm was used for two different problems, resulting in the pilots misinterpreting the information.
A 2006 independent inquiry into the crash found that although the pilots were directly responsible for the crash, the airline as well as civil aviation officers were criminally liable.
The full findings of the inquiry, carried out by former judge Panayiotis Kallis, were only made public in December last year.
The 170-page report had been placed under the care of the Cabinet, the body that appointed the panel, and kept from the public eye since.”
The panel was appointed back in 2006 to investigate both the underlying and immediate causes of the crash.” 4.
The politicisation of crashes became of course fashionable and mysteries became common place since the official ‘war on terror’ was inaugurated as we have had the stories about missing planes, the Ukrainian shoot down etc.

This one was subsequently reported a diverted flight away from Athens airport followed by two FI6 and under conditions where there was an alleged terrorist on board and at the time Greece had signed up to the RENEGADE code of conduct from the USA after 9/11. This stipulates flights which aren’t under control can be shot down. We are no near learning what actually happened but based on the evidence presented so far this was some type of terrorist action by the Deep State.
